EPA Proposes Stricter Emissions Limits for Hard and Decorative Chromium Electroplating and Chromium Anodizing.
On February 8, 2012, EPA published a supplemental proposed rulemaking that would amend its 1995 chromium electroplating national emissions standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP). EPA is proposing to decrease emissions standards across three source categories: hard and decorative chromium electroplating, and chromium anodizing. EPA is also proposing to ban the use of non-perfluorooctyl sulfonates-based wetting agent fume suppressant (PFOS). Comments are due by March 26, 2012.
